I ened up goign to the hospital about 3-4 times a month feeling exactly how you have been feeling. Everytime I felt this way I thought I was having a heart attack. After every possible test they diagnosed me with panic and anxiety. Anxiety adn Panic attacks CAN happen while you are at your most relaxed stage. I have had many episodes where I have to get up off the couch while relaxing to walka round because I have the shaky feeling, lightheadedness, dizziness, numbing sensation. But I have to l myself IT IS NOT A HEART ATTACK. IT WILL GO AWAY IN A FEW MINUTES. and it does. Our mind is so powerful that if we beleive it is a heart attack we will make ourselves feel the symptoms we associate with a heart attack. I went to so many cardiologist, endocronologists, general doctors etc. And I am almost sure now that I do have anxiety and panic attacks. After 6 years of ongoig hospital visits I know know that I AM OKAY. My mind is playing tricks on me and I just need to let it run its course and take teh medicine. Hope this helps.
Dealing with Anxiety Symptoms: Hyperventilation.
I would have to agree with the ER doctor and l you that you should talk with a physician (outside the ER) about your symptoms and how you have been feeling. Although some of what you have described can describe symptoms of anxiety, they can also be symptoms of underlying physical illnesses. A doctor should complete tests to rule out any physical cause.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know how it works out after you have seen a doctor. Eileen.
I feel like you just told what i have been expriencing for the past 3 years on and off. Last night I woke up at 3 am and felt the exact same thing you described. I feel like you describe my insides!. I woke up feeling like something was wrong with my heart. I lay next to my 2 yr old ready to die. I didnt fall back asleep until about 530am. I have been to two cardiologists and to the ER MULTIPLE times. Its becoming embarrassing now how often i am at the ER. I have done cardiology tests and they have found nothing wrong with me. i too feel like they have not done a thorough examiniation. I was given Alprazolam. 25 a couple times and told tha i was having panic attacks. Lay i have been feeling extremely lonely as a single mom at 23 yrs. perhaps that was the cause last nite. I have been anxious since i woke up. Im at work and i feel anxious and still have not take it. I dont like the idea of meds. I told myself that i am ok. i am not dying and i am glad i made it tru last nite. I just hope i can make it tru d day. I dont have any useful advice to give, i just wanted to say that i can feel your pain.. the physical pain too. I hope to hear how you are doing now and wish you the best. I am still thinking of going to see another doctor... the problem is i just dont know whom. sleep apnia.

Anxiety - Major Symptoms of Anxiety Disorders.
A few months back I had moved to a new apartment and a couple weeks later I woke up one morning and I could not shake the thought that I was not breathing right, and I could not get myself back to sleep so I got up and walked outside and tried to catch my breath. I paced in and out of the house for about 3 hours until I eventually layed down and tried really hard to sleep it off, which I succeeded in doing after a couple of hours of my mind racing around. I never felt like that in my life. I am 29 years old and smoke way to much, so I keep thinking this is what was wrong. From then until now I have been to the emergency room 3 times thinking I was about to die, my arms would get numb and the breathing was tough again. At the emergency room the doctors told me they could not find anything wrong with me, but did not really give me a full exam I feel. At first they said they thought it was something called "pleurisy" (Pleuritis) an inflammation of the lungs. They gave me Ibuprofen and Hydrocodone for the pain I said I was having. I took them for a couple of days and stopped because I did not want to keep taking these and the problem stoped for a couple of days. The next trip to the emergency room had some of the same symptoms and I thought I was going to have a heart attack or something, and they said there was nothing wrong and sent me home after a while. The days between these visits and now have been varied, and every day it seems something always feels wrong with my body. I wake up mornings sometimes with numb arms, and I am constantly aware of my breathing, I can never stop thinking about it for more than and hour or so without thinking of it again. I have had days where I get quick sharp pains in my arms and chest, under my armpits and fingers. Suddenly after 29 years this has begun and I don't know what it is. I get light headed easy, dizzy and sometimes when I look to focus on something like the floor it seems to move or wavy for a moment. If I go from sitting to standing and walk in the next room I can feel my heart beat increase rapidly and the pressure seems throbbing. The emergency doctors told me I need to get my own doctor, I have not been to the doctor in about 8 years since I left the military, and I found out today that I was eligible for insurance through them so I went to the VA hospital and registered and I asked to see someone in the emergency room. They took my blood pressure and said it was a little high but they thought It was because I was there, which could be true because I am a bit nervous when I think of going to hospitals. I told them all of this, and really did not check me out at all, just my blood pressure and listened to my lungs. They perscribed me as having anxiety and cave me a five day supply of Alprazolam. 25mg. I keep hearing anxiety, and panic attacks from people I l, but I am convinced it is something physically wrong because I can feel it. Someone told me its all in my head, but I feel it. Maybe I could be building it up and making myself feel this way, but I have had pains, or stuffy noses where I could not breath good and physical pain before but it never made me worried like this. Basically I guess what I am hoping someone could l me, should I take this Alprazolam even thought I have not been examined full. I am a bit nervous about pills, and some of the side effects of this pill sounds like some of the symptoms I already have, shortness of breath, drowsiness and dizziness. I know this is long, If anyone reads this and can give me some advice I would truely appreciate it. Thank you.
